You hate them. You love to hate them. You really hate getting stuck behind a group of them on a pedal tavern, woo-ing their way through downtown, when you’re late for a meeting.
They’re the bachelorettes, and they’re everywhere, and local comedian Ben Oddo wants you to know a lot more about them.

On Sept. 22, Oddo will release Nashville Bachelorettes: A Ben Oddo Investigation. The satirical short film, billed as “60 Minutes meets The Daily Show,” follows Oddo as he goes behind-the-scenes into the belly of the bridal beast.

Oddo will be familiar to some of you, as a veteran of the local comedy scene. He and Morey Hill co-hosted web series The Ben and Morey Show, an “untelevised late-night talk show,” for three and a half years, interviewing such local luminaries as novelist/bookstore owner Ann Patchett, Tennessee Titans veteran/TSU football coach/actor Eddie George, former Nashville radio host/Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams, and many more.

Now Oddo turns his gimlet eye to our plague of party princesses. Are the bachelorettes an easy target? Yes. Does this movie look funny as hell? Also yes
The 30-minute film debuts at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Belcourt Theater. Tickets are $20, and include a panel discussion and audience Q&A, plus an after-party at Neighbors Sylvan Park.
